CULTURAL EXCHANGE WITH THE COMMUNITY!!! DELICIOUS INDIAN FOOD!



You can win many a heart through the stomach!!!  Even Children.

YES SPECIALLY THROUGH THE SPICES OF INDIA!!!

 Melissa, Megan and there friends wanted me to teach them Indian cooking. Telling them the medicinal values of turmeric, garlic, pepper and many more spices, I taught them how to make Dosa's, Chappatis, Kichidi,Sambar,Rasam, Beetroot curry,Chicken, Raitha and Annapaisam. They were very excited and interested in learning.

Megan Smith Gunnell commented "Here she is preparing a Semolina grian to be mixed with spices and vegetables-they eat this for breakfast with a spicy lentil soup/ sauce(sambar)with fresh curry leaves- IT WAS FABULOUS!!!

MY !!! HOW GOOD IT LOOKS!!! WHAT FLAVOR!!! WE ARE FEELING HUNGRY!!!
 The pressure cooker in the back really explodes with steam!!! We were all reacted as if we saw a jack in the box(except Kala, of course) !!!

She made Dosa pancakes and Whole wheat cakes too !!!

      The pan in fronmt is a rice pudding(payasam)cooked with milk, cardamon and sugar. garnished with cashews and raisons. IT WAS SO DELICIOUS AND COMFORTING-COULD HAVE FALLEN INTO THE PAN!!!

The crowd grew larger and larger as the word spread.!!!

It was real fun to cook for them. They were so interested, taking notes, relishing every bit, from the smell to taste. IT WAS A PLEASURE TEACHING AND COOKING FOR THEM.
