The very first week , on reaching Michigan, Mrs Pam Sparks my mentor took me on girl camping with her daughter Alli . It was my first experience staying in a tent, out in the woods! I was a bit nervous in the beginning about staying in the woods but I decided I should go and experience all American adventures !
We went to the camp site at 5pm , set our tents and went around the beautiful area! A lovely stream runs by with a small bridge over it leading to a dense forest with tall trees. It was awesome! What a scene ! A feast to my eyes and peace to my mind! There was a duck race competition , we threw small plastic ducks into the stream with our names written on it and screamed at our ducks to come first in the race. It was fun . As we were getting ready for the camp fire it started raining and we rushed to the small museum beside the camp site. There was a show on astronomy and a story telling session to keep the children engaged. When the rains stopped we went out, enjoyed food at the camp fire and went out into the thick forest area at 12 o'clock in the night. What a lovely experience, with sounds of the night birds in pitch back surrounding with a guide leading us explaining about them. I can still bring it into my memory the beautiful night! We came back to sleep in our tents. As we got near our tents it started raining but we got into our tents and laid down listening to the rain drops falling on our tents!!!
